You may have already noticed the activities around the initiative Darujeme české Vánoce (We Give Czech Christmas), which tries to make quality Czech creators visible in the online world, which they are dependent on in this pandemic and economic crisis.

The main idea of the two founders, Jana Kuntošová and Hanky Šormová, is “Buy at least one gift from a Czech producer this Christmas and thus spread triple joy (for the recipient, the creator and the intermediary – the buyer).” Personally, I see in the actions of the leaders around Hanky and Jana what has been called for in the Czech Republic for a long time; ethical production, quite often sustainable shopping and support for Czech brands, most often artisanal production. The ladies actually vet each prospective client and have strict rules for inclusion among the cooperating companies. I’m a big fan of their initiative and predict a great future… just like Jesus’ grandchildren. Because what they managed to do (more or less spontaneously) in just two months is admirable.
